:: Episode 19: Return of the Revenge of the Tosei
Tosei no Jitsuryoku (Tosei's Power)

Summary

After scoring, Mihashi and Sakaeguchi happily return to the benches, where they're smothered with affection by their teammates. Mihashi is eager to pitch again, and runs out before Abe is even ready! Luckily, Tajima is there for him, so he plays with Mihashi until Abe arrives on the scene. Mihashi's ma seems delighted by Mihashi's energy, and Ruri gets this adorable little flashback of a younger Mihashi playing baseball with Kano and company.
Tosei starts batting. Motoyama succeeds, Junta fails, and Yamanoi succeeds again. One out, batters on third and first... THIRD! As in THIRD RUNNER! Motoyama gets to experience Mihashi's creepy third runner stare. Either way, it's Fishlips's turn (and when I say Fishlips, I mean Maekawa and not Machida, who I refer to as Fishlips the Catcher) to bat! He brings Motoyama riiiight home. Tosei gets their first point! The inning isn't over yet either, but not to worry, Jin fails.

On Nishiura's way back to the dugout, IT happens - Mihashi's NOSE starts bleeding! Hanai hurries up to hide Mihashi's shame. When Abe arrives, he gets greeted by the horrible sight of Mihashi lying around on the bench with a towel covering his face and his teammates fanning him. Is this the end for Nishiura? Naaahh, Momoe says he'll still be able to pitch. And so he will - after Tajima skips off to stalk Junta and leaves the fanning to Abe, Mihashi sits straight up and informs the world that he's all right.

After a rather uneventful Tosei defending inning (Tajima actually manages to hit the ball this time around, but Hanai, Oki and Mizutani all fail to bring him back home), it's Mihashi's turn to pitch again. Masaya fails, but Shingo and Takehiko both succeed; there are now runners on second and third base (third runner!). Abe decides that now would be the right time for a timeout! The Nishiuralings all gather and whisper suspiciously behind their gloves. Nishihiro runs up and informs them that Momoe said that they can't let Tosei get another point here! Nishiura split up and run off to defend, but not before Mihashi screams out "THIRD RUNNER!" and they all stare at Shingo AT THE SAME TIME. One would think that a COMBINED Third Runner Stare™ would be enough to cripple a man, but Shingo somehow survives.
Well, despite what Momoe said, the Nishiuralings aren't miracle workers... Kazuki hits and Shingo runs AALLLL the way back home, making it just in time. It's a tie! Nishiura is still in high spirits, though. Except maybe Abe.

This particular Aoki face cracks me up every time I see it for some reason. HE LOOKS SO STUPIDLY CONCENTRATED!!

Third runner GROUP STARE!!! This is the only funny Shingo scene I can think of.

I kind of dislike the style this episode was done in... it's like the characters were too pale and the blush things stood out too much or something. Can you believe that the animation supervisor here is the same as episode eleven's?!

This is just GROSS. And stupidly enough, they reused this exact Mihashi in the next episode AND THEY DIDN'T USE THE REVAMPED VERSION!! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
