Summary
Mrs. Hanai arrives on the scene along with Mrs. Abe! The parents are all splitting up in order to help their sons out with their snooping on the other teams. Everyone enjoys a good chuckle at Hanai and his typical teenage embarrassment towards his enthusiastic mom.
While Sakitama's catcher Daichi has to give plenty of different signs before Ichihara the pitcher agrees, Momoe and the mothers chat it up about Momoe's school days as a baseball player and later manager.
Back with the Nishiuralings! While some of them are impressed by Daichi and his Daichiesque ways, Abe gets all "concerned" about Mihashi's low weight and starts nagging at him. He then starts talking about the speed of pitches, which causes Mihashi to get all confused, 'cause hey, wasn't Abe supposed to not care about speed? Abe naturally snaps, Mihashi runs off, and Oki confronts Abe about how unnerving his constant yelling is, which again causes ABE to get all self-conscious.
Abe wanders over to Mihashi and tries to talk to him again, doing his very best to avoid yelling. When he succeeds in getting through to Mihashi through normal talking, he throws an internal party.
But enough about that. It's Sakitama time! And Daichi is batting! He fails, but his teammates just laugh it off. Daichi joins in, then comes to a screeching halt as he realizes that he just might have sounded too prideful just then! He completely spazzes out and starts babbling about his heart being dirty and needing to cleanse it. Ichihara suggests a wash, and Daichi does just that, feeling all better afterwards. Oyama has a little internal monologue about not expecting his team to get further than this round, but that's okay.
The match is getting prolonged, and Daichi is just SO happy about it because he just loves playing SO much. Ichihara makes a whiny little comment about wanting to finish quickly because it's tiresome for his shoulder, which causes Daichi to freak out again! This time he accuses himself of being a selfish jerk with no consideration for other people's feelings. And yes, his heart is dirty. Ichihara calms him down though, saying that as long as they win this, whatever!
And win they do! Daichi goes on to hit a homerun and everything! Go Sakitama, GO!!! Nishiura is impressed, but how far will a single excellent player get Sakitama? Abe has already thought of an evil plan to win against them!
An unknown amount of time later, Shiga refuses Hamada's request to turn the cheerleading squad into an official club while Nishiura gets ready for a meeting after a training session in the summer heat. Abe makes sure to do some more nagging at Mihashi before they begin, silently worrying by himself what he's doing wrong. The meeting starts, and they discuss strategies for the upcoming match against Sakitama. Abe suggests to aim for a called game in order to save their strengths, especially Mihashi's, even though Mihashi objects to that as much as Mihashi is able to object. Abe then reveals his dirty little plan to crush Sakitama's spirits by intentionally walking Daichi every turn. WOW. I don't know about you, but I know I'M cheering on Sakitama!
