Animation directors >>
Yoshitaka Yashima
Episodes 1, 6, 11, 17, 24, 31, 36, 42, 48 and 54
My favorite animation director... well, for... KOSHIRO at least. Piyomon actually looks kind of messy, especially seen from the front, and the lower part of her beak looks very thin and flimsy. I definitely prefer the people to the Digimon in these episodes. That said, it's definitely a very EXPRESSIVE style!
Setsuko Nobuzane
Episodes 2, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 43 and 50
Not very distinctive, but that is definitely not a bad thing. The characters look a lot like they do on the high quality official artwork.
Toshio Deguchi
Episodes 3, 8, 16, 23, 30, 38, 46 and 52
The art in these episodes tends to look kind of... rushed and low quality. It is, after all, the style that gave us BEAK-ZILLA.
Yukio Ebisawa
Episodes 4, 13, 22, 29, 37, 44 and 53
I'm mostly fine with how the Digimon look in these episodes, but the people... not so much. They look a bit... boxy and squashed. Episode four looked drastically different and a lot better, though!
Masahiro Naoi
Episodes 5, 12, 19, 26, 33, 40 and 47
Come on, face it. You all GROAN every time you watch an episode and recognize this here art style!! Well, I do, at least. Actually, I only dislike the way this style makes the human characters look. Piyomon actually looks kind of cute! Her top feathers droop a little, her beak is rather small, and her eyes huge.
Shigetaka Kiyoyama
Episodes 9, 18, 25, 32, 41 and 49
Very normal-looking! I like it.
Tomoko Ito
Episodes 10, 15, 20, 27, 34, 39, 45 and 51
A rather distinctive style, it makes the characters look... WIDE, somehow. It's mostly just visible on the humans, though. Piyomon and the other Digimon look pretty normal.
